Jerusalem
"Ten measures of beauty were bestowed upon the world;
nine were taken by Jerusalem and one by the rest of the world"
(Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Kiddushin 49:2)
Jerusalem is the Capital of Israel.  Surrounded by the Judean Mountains, between the Mediterranean Sea and the northern tip of the Dead Sea. Jerusalem has over 4,000 years of history, folded into each and every centimeter of the city.  It is one of the oldest cities in the world.
Jerusalem has been the most sacred city and the spiritual center of the Jewish people since the 10th century B.C. The city hosts a number of important ancient holy Christian sites and is considered the third-holiest city for Islam. Jerusalem is thus a major site of pilgrimage for all three religions.
Its special glow bestowed it the title "Jerusalem of Gold". It casts a spell on each and very one of its visitors. It is a popular travel destination for everyone for its vast range of interests: historical and spiritual, museums and concerts, archeological and the modern life of the city.
The Old City is the walled area of Jerusalem, which constituted the entire city until the middle of the 19th century. It was added to the List of World Heritage Sites in danger in 1982. there are four quarters traditionally referred to in the Old City: Armenian, Christian, Jewish and Muslim.
Outside the walls of the Old City grows a modern and vibrant city. Jerusalem today is unique, old and new, history and history in the making  walk hand in hand naturally as in no other city.
Jerusalem forms a mixture of colors, smells, cultures and people. It has its own very special aura of magic. Jerusalem is considered one of (if not THE) most beautiful cities in the world.
