Shopping

Shopping in Israel is an international with a zest of oriental experience. You will find posh shops, marketing international brand names, alongside lively colorful authentic markets where you walk around, bargaining with cheerful sellers.

Major shops are usually open from 9:00-10:00 AM until 7:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays shops usually close between 2:00 -3:00 PM, and most places of business do not open on Saturdays.

Shopping mall hours are longer. Some are open until 10:00 PM and some are open on Saturdays and Holidays.

Markets opening hours vary. For more details - please check at your hotel.

Be sure to take your passport along with you when you visit stores with a "Tax-Free" sign displayed.

Bargaining

Bargaining is acceptable in Israel, but not everywhere. In the open-air markets, do not hesitate to bargain as it is part of the experience. Doing so can lower the price significantly. Storekeepers are legally required to display prices and for the most part are not open to bargaining.

Restaurants and public transportation are not open to bargaining at all.
